Dr. Debbie Parnes

Early Treatment

Both Dr. Parnes and Dr. Hill, along with the American Association of Orthodontists, recommend a first visit for children around age 7. If your child shows signs of developing teeth or jaw issues when adult teeth are starting to come in, early interceptive treatment can make a positive impact in a less invasive way.

  • Crowding
  • Misplaced or blocked out teeth
  • Protruding teeth
  • Teeth that don’t fit together
  • Habits such as thumb sucking or mouth breathing

We can develop a plan to help guide teeth and jaw bones as they grow. In some cases, just a few braces and a palatal expander, worn for around 6-12 months, can prevent or reduce more serious problems from developing later.

Most importantly, a small change can make a big impact on a kid’s self-confidence.

Not every child needs early interceptive treatment. In that case, we will schedule observation checkups (at no cost) so that we can keep an eye on your child’s growth and development. That way, any necessary treatment can begin at just the right time.

Comprehensive Treatment

For older kids and adults, treatment usually involves braces or Invisalign®, which do much more than straighten crooked teeth. Comprehensive treatment goals include aligning the upper and lower jaw and perfecting the bite. These changes can improve dental and gum health and increase self-esteem as well.

We are always excited to see the results: an ear-to-ear grin.
Both teens and adults can benefit. We will help identify the best appliance-type for you and your lifestyle:

These are not the braces of decades past. Technology has improved the brackets and wires so that they are smaller, more comfortable, and work faster.

WildSmiles Braces®

Take your braces from mild to wild with WildSmiles Braces®! WildSmiles are specially designed braces that come in a variety of fun shapes including: Stars, Hearts, Soccer Balls, Footballs, Flowers, and Super-Diamonds®. WildSmiles are a unique alternative to traditional braces.

Ceramic braces are just as efficient as metal, but the clear material helps them blend in better with teeth. Both adult and teen patients choose them for their more subtle appearance.

Invisalign® works using a series of clear removable aligners that are customized for each patient and changed every week. Each new aligner differs slightly, gradually moving your teeth into the correct position. Invisalign® aligners are popular because they are comfortable and barely visible as they straighten your teeth.

For those patients who want an aesthetic, truly invisible, alternative to braces, we are excited to introduce Inbrace. We are the first provider in Pennsylvania to offer the newest and most technologically advanced brand of lingual braces. Inbrace braces go behind the teeth and use a set of customized wires, with patented Smartwire™ Technology to efficiently align the teeth, while also allowing for normal flossing.

A retainer helps keep teeth in position once treatment is complete. At first, you should wear your retainer consistently to prevent your teeth from shifting. You can eventually decrease usage, but will still need to wear it sometimes to maintain your smile throughout life. You worked hard to get the smile you want, and we are here to help you keep it!

Reminder texts are completely customizable. Something to add to your to-do list? We can set up a reminder for that too, even while you are still sitting in our chair.

Our texting service makes it easy to communicate with us and can provide reminders about: appointments, brushing, wearing rubber bands, aligners, or retainers, and changing aligners
